Love is something everyone wants. It’s nice to feel loved by our family and friends. Some people don’t have this love. Others may have what they think is love, but it may not be. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
I don’t know about you, but that sounds pretty great to me. Love goes two ways. For example, God loves me and I love Him back. So don’t just take love, give love. Everyone needs it whether they want to admit it or not. Spreading love is just as important as receiving it. You’ve probably heard someone in your life say, “Treat others as you would want to be treated,” or something along those lines. This phrase is actually more important than some people may realize, and you can apply it to just about any situation.
Now, we are all still human. We make mistakes and say things we don’t mean, or don’t really want to say. Thinking before we speak is another good little phrase that kind of goes along with the one above. Before we say or do something, we should try thinking about what’s about to happen. Will it harm this person? Would I want to be treated this way? Would I want someone to say this to me?
We are all different from one another, but I’m pretty sure we all don’t like being made fun of and name called and all of those not-so-great things. Now, don’t get me wrong. I am notperfect at using these phrases in day-to-day life. I personally believe that they’re things we should always keep close, even if we feel too old for it. I think we can all agree that everyone would be happier if we as people thought about our words first, and focused on spreading love and healing instead of hatred and destruction. Everyone deserves the love of God, and He’s handing it out to anyone and everyone on this earth.
All you have to do is welcome it. When you do, you will be so full of the Lord and His Love that you will easily spread it. Don’t get discouraged if you treat someone with kindness, love and respect and they aren’t the same in return. Everyone has their own things going on in their own lives, and not everyone is used to being treated kindly. So don’t give up. No matter what happens. May the Lord give you strength, and may He fill this planet with His Love.
