In most circumstances, surrender isn’t the first thing you would want to do. It can be taken as a sign of weakness. That you’re giving up. Forfeiting. But the Lord thrives in our weakness. It’s a chance for Him to show how much He cares for us and that He’s always right there. Feeling weak is okay. No one can be strong everyday, especially on their own. We need help; more than we realize.
Surrendering to Christ isn’t pathetic or weak, and it’s not giving up on yourself or your life. It’s giving up on trying to live without Him. Realizing that you aren’t in control of anything and you need the one who is. We need the Lord for everything, big and small. Without Him none of us would even be here. He breathes life into our exhausted bodies. When you realize you’ve been fighting Him and sink into His loving embrace, you will feel relief. Peace. Without Him we can easily get lost in the chaos and rush of this world, drowning in all the temptations and distractions.
Jesus knows when we need Him, which is all the time. He knows He can help us but He won’t force Himself on anyone. He wants us to realize that we need Him. He knows when we surrender we will feel stronger, lighter. I knows it’s hard to admit we need help. I struggle with this myself. But it feels so much better when you let God deal with your problems. He wants our burdens. He’s not like a person that pretends they care and that they want to help. The Lord can carry your weight and He really wants to. Even though He doesn’t force His love on us, He hates to watch us suffer. We are His children and He loves us more than we can imagine.
Fall into His arms. Let Him carry you through life. Pass every burden over to Him and I promise it’s so worth it. Everyone has a breaking point and I hope you choose Him before you reach yours, but sometimes that’s what it takes. It is never too early or late to accept Him as your Savior and surrender. Surrendering to the Lord is not weak. If anything, it requires strength. Let Him love you, let Him treat you like the beloved child you are. Let Him wrap you in His Peace and Rest.
